![]() It is because of your denial that the developers keep pushing out the new DLCs without fixing what is actually in the game. RFactor 2 was great fun back in the day, but at the moment, it is a struggle. The value that you get out of AC titles is pretty good. The physics might not be as good as rFactor's but it is up there with it. Why ? Because it looks and feels way more polished. If I were you, I'd go with something like AC, ACC or something else. A new roadmap was pushed out earlier but that includes more upcoming paid DLC, which is absolutely atrocious considering the current state of the sim. There are so many glitches and bugs that it has and the developers haven't really done anything about it. With its recent RaceControl-powered multiplayer resurgence, rFactor 2 has once again come to the attention of sim racing fans and influencers. The old UI sucked, the new one sucks even more. If you are new to the game, get ready to get frustrated. Particularly the track packs.Īnother thing is the UI. In my opinion, DLCs are a must if you want to enjoy anything in there. The way I see it, these guys keep pushing out all these different DLCs without actually fixing/updating the older ones to the current standards. Most of the tracks/mods are DX9 based and they look horrible as if I'm playing something from 2010.Ī few cars and tracks made over to DX11 but that list is too small, specially for those who do not want to drive on those tracks. I'll get downvoted for saying this but be cautious. It took me a couple of hours to figure out what was going on, but after that I've not looked back. You get a whole load more variety than you do in RaceRoom for the same money. ![]() So to answer the original question, I think RF2 (especially on sale) is definitely worth a go even with no DLC. I find it far more noticeable that the driving in ACC is so sterile, for example. That said, a few of the base content tracks look nice and they I don't find that I really care once I'm in a race. But the newer tracks, most of which are DLC (sorry OP) look great. And that is true of some of the base content. There is a lot of talk about things looking old in RF2. The others are fine, but RF2 is really engaging. The driving model is more satisfying in RF2. To the OP's point, always seems to be at least one series running using entirely free/base content. I find it much more satisfying than ACC public lobbies, for example, which are always GT3 at Monza and maybe Zolder. The competition system means that I always have a new track and car combination to practice in RF2. Personally I find it hard to play ACC end RaceRoom and AMS2 now that I have RF2. V1.It's interesting to see how negative everybody on this thread is about RF2. Found a small mesh hole in track surface in NASCAR 4 during last league event, that does not affect normal driving direction Added Corner Marshalls to T1, T3, T5, T6 Closed some mesh holes in the inside runoff area at T6 Moved Safety Car to Rolex 24 location (Exit of T3), may be changed in future Changed some shaders (mainly on lights) and removed 3D light glows ![]() Discussion in Third Party Content started by jefcam, Dec 28, 2017. Forums > rFactor 2 > Third Party Content > Track Map Plugin. Any chance of making this important plugin work 2. Adjusted night lighting to be a bit darker With the new DX11 update for rf2 the great Track Map Plugin does not work anymore. Added Arrow Signals to T1 and the Bus Stop (made by DGTracks, will be updated in future) Added Pit In and Pit Out lights (will be updated in future) Moved xPitOut to 2020+ Rolex 24 location in the Pit Out esses, with new AIW pit path to match Moved garage spaces from pit lane to outside the actual garages We are using this as a development tool to learn track editing and building, and for our leagues. Further updates have been carried out by us here at Xplore Sim Racing for use with our leagues and we have obtained permission to continue working on it and to release it to the workshop. This track was originally brought to RF2 by SJ, with further updates by Bernd and Turb bringing the track to V1.27. This is the Daytona International Speedway Road Course. ![]()
